Snore Therapy

Snore Less. Sleep Well. Feel Better.

What if we told you the root cause of your chronic snoring could be an oral issue? Something as common as a small jaw or large tonsils could be the culprit that has been keeping you (and your loved ones) up at night.

But we have good news: we are proud to offer the Solea® laser for fast, effective snore therapy!

What causes snoring?

Snoring occurs when air cannot move freely between your nose and throat. We already mentioned your jaw and tonsils could be behind this, but so can things like alcohol, allergies, sinus issues, and your weight. In some cases, obstructive sleep apnea can be the cause.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) occurs when the muscles supporting the soft tissues in your throat, including your soft palate and tongue, temporarily relax. As these muscles relax, your airway closes or narrows and breathing is temporarily obstructed. This sleep disorder has the potential to be very serious, so it is important to determine the cause of your snoring when seeking treatment.

Please note, Solea® Sleep is not a treatment for obstructive sleep apnea, however, it can provide relief for the snoring and sleep disruption many people with OSA experience.

But keep in mind, not everyone who snores has sleep apnea! In fact, about 80% of snorers are “palatal” or mouth snorers. This means your snoring is caused by the vibration of soft palate tissue that relaxes over time.

And that is where Solea® Sleep comes in!

Relief from Snoring with Solea® Sleep

Bulky, invasive appliances are not always the best choice for preventing snoring. Instead, patients are turning to Solea® Sleep for help. In as little as a five-minute treatment, patients can experience rapid relief from the snoring they have dealt with for so long. For many patients, results last for well over a year before it is time for another quick treatment.

How does snore therapy work?

We understand that it might sound too good to be true, but the Solea® laser really is that powerful. This low-power laser is administered on a layer of the soft palate called the Lamina Propria. This layer has a high level of collagen and the laser stiffens it, tightening the entire soft palate in the process. Once it is tightened, the vibrations that lead to snoring can be reduced or even entirely stopped.

Beuty Sleep

Beauty Sleep/Collagen Production

If you are experiencing ongoing sleep disruptions due to snoring, chances are you might not be getting adequate sleep. In addition to good quality sleep being important for your overall health, it can play an important role in anti-aging. During the third and fourth stages of sleep early in the nighttime sleep cycle, your body has the chance to go into “repair mode.” During this time, your body can produce growth hormones that boost collagen production.

Collagen and sleep

Collagen is the main protein in your connective tissue, including your skin. As one of the building blocks of healthy skin, it is no wonder critical collagen production during sleep has led to what we know as “beauty sleep.” Not only can you miss out on this “repair time” but the stress caused by a lack of sleep can also make proteins like collagen break down faster.

If you are experiencing poor or inadequate sleep, not only could you suffer various health effects, but it can also take a toll on the look and feel of your skin.
